You will be called the day before your surgery and told what time to arrive and be given specific instructions from the pre-operative nurse.

Patients may have to be rearranged  due to health status (diabetics) and or procedure being performed.

Medications will be reviewed with a nurse on the day prior to your surgery. Ask your Primary Care Physician what medications you should take in the morning prior to your procedure.

Please wear comfortable clothing. Loose fitting, button down shirts or blouses are best. Leave all jewelry at home, including body-piercing jewelry. If you wear contact lens, please bring your contact case and solutions as you will probably have to remove them.

Yes, due to the anesthesia medications you receive prior and during surgery, you will need a driver to be with you. If you are not having anesthesia during your procedure, it is possible for you to drive home, however, this should be discussed with your surgeon or the nurse during your pre-operative phone call.

No. Due to the anesthesia required for surgeries and procedures, we will not allow any patient to drive themselves home afterwards. Please arrange for a family member or close friend to transport you to and from the facility on your day or surgery.

If you are not feeling well prior to your surgery, please contact or physician or The Center for Specialized Surgery right away.

Please bring your driver’s license or photo ID card, insurance cards and form of payment, if necessary (cash, check and credit cards are accepted). Any equipment your doctor ordered such as crutches, sling, immobilizer, etc.

After your outpatient procedure, you will be moved to the recovery area. When you are fully awake, your family will be able to join you.

Anesthetics are administered by contracted anesthesia providers, which include anesthesiologists and Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNA).

Yes. On the day of surgery your anesthesia provider will speak with you and review your medical history, and explain their plan for your care. You will have the opportunity to have all of your questions or concerns addressed at that time. Please contact the surgery center’s pre-operative nurse if you have concerns that need to be addressed prior to the day of surgery.

It is the policy of the Center that patients pay their copay and any remaining deductible at the time of the surgery.

What type of payment does The Center for Specialized Surgery accept?

We accept cash, check, Care Credit, Visa, Discover and Master Card.

Yes. You may receive up to three bills – one from The Center for Specialized Surgery, one from Anesthesia and Pain Consultants of Southwest Florida, and one from your surgeon. These charges will be billed separately to your insurance company and to you.
